Description
A small prickly shrub 1-2 meters high, with very fragrant pink blooms. About 30 roses are required to make 1 drop of oil. It is believed that 4,000kg of flowers are required to yield 1 liter of Rose Otto of which 1/3 is the green essence from the first distillation and 2/3 is yellow oil coming from the second and subsequent distillations.
Characteristics
A pale yellow liquid with a deep, sweet, rosy-floral, tenacious odour. Rose congeals at approximately 15° C.

General
Rose is the most complex essential oil known, with over 300 chemical compounds of which the great part is still unidentified.
Blends well with
Bergamot, German & Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Patchouli, Palmarosa, Rosewood, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.
