Description
A hybrid plant of true lavender and spike lavender usually not as high in quality and often used for the aroma and not therapeutic value even though it has shown to be nearly twice as effective as lavender in alleviating anxiety. The flowers are dark blue, very highly scented and larger than true lavender.
Characteristics
Not as refined as Lavender due to lower ester content and presence of camphor. A yellow to dark yellow oil that smells acridly aromatic and a little camphory.

General
Lavandin plants yield almost twice as much oil as true lavender and are easier to grow. Mainly used by the fragrance industry. It is less therapeutic than lavender but often sold as lavender.
Blends well with
Bergamot, Geranium, Jasmine, Sweet orange, Lemon, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Rosewood, Rosemary and Ylang Ylang.
